About
Kim Riley
Hello and Welcome!

My name is Kim. My husband George and I have been married for over thirty years. I spent twenty-five of those years as an Army wife and mom. George is now retired from the military, and we are settled in our home state of New Jersey. Our boys, Josh and Kevin, are all grown up. Our daughter, Kaiti, is in high school. Now it's time for me to figure out what's next!
I don't know exactly where I am going to land, but I have begun to step out in faith as I figure out his plan. I enrolled in community college and plan to continue through until I earn a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in counseling. Investing in my own mental health has been life changing. I want to help others the same way my therapist has helped me. She expertly uses her education in conjunction with the truth of God's Word to help me find a healthier way to think about things. There is so much more work to do, and I am excited to share what I am learning along the way!

Jerusalem Artichoke is another leap of faith. My vision for the blog and webpage is exciting! But I am nobody special. All I have to offer is an ability to put sentences together pretty decently and a fire to share the love and kindness of Jesus. I just keep reminding myself that God has a history of using unqualified people to do things they could never do without his inspiration and strength.

1 Corinthians 1:26-28 (MSG)
Take a good look, friends, at who you were when you got called into this life. I don't see many of "the brightest and the best" among you, not many influential.....Isn't it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these "nobodies"......

Philippians 1:6 (ESV)
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Christ Jesus.
